Brick First: Growth Brick Can Handle

Aerial view of Cedar Bridge Avenue near the Garden State Parkway in Brick

Team Brick is not against growth. Brick has always been a place where families build homes, open businesses and put down roots, and we want that to continue.

What we are against is overdevelopment: projects that outrun our roads, our drainage, our schools and the quality of life in our neighborhoods. Residents feel it already, from traffic on Cedar Bridge Avenue to streets that flood after a heavy rain. Every new project adds to that load, and the people who live here are the ones who carry it.

That's why every development proposal in Brick should face one simple question: Is this good for Brick? Not just for the applicant, and not just on paper, but for the families who will drive those roads, send kids to those schools and live next door.

Residents also deserve a real say. Hearings should be easy to find and easy to follow, and when a board approves something big, people should get a clear explanation of why.

Brick First means growth on Brick's terms. We'll have more to say about how to get there. For now, we want every resident to know where Team Brick stands.
